Your top-selling product suddenly takes a dip in sales. What do you do?
- Have your usability experts examine the page and provide suggestions on what areas to change.
- Pick the page where most customers abandon and try changing one thing on that page to see what happens.
- Revamp the entire experience as quickly as possible.
- Announce a 10% off sale for a limited time only.
When something goes wrong, you often don’t know why. Instead of retreating into information gathering or making a big change, instead perform an experiment. Try something to see whether a small change can make a big difference. And keep changing things until it works. Reducing your price is a last resort—usually you can find a more profitable change.
