Everyone's talking about social media and how you get yourself "out there." Even if you still think that social media is a little too "out there" for you, you might be surprised that the first step has nothing to do with making yourself heard. This brings up a really interesting point. I think many social posters fail to realize what they are really telling the "world" if someone were to connect the dots in posts its "way too much info" by probably any standard.

Agreed. Just like any public interaction, it makes sense to pay attention to how much to say and what shouldn't be said. Social media doesn't change that basic communication rule, as you point out.

I couldn`t agree more. A lot of people apparently do not understand that to be able to discuss a topic, you actually need to know something about it.
