I got a question recently from a small business owner who asked about readable URLs. But he had a larger question lurking on whether SEO was still "hot." With all the new ways to get free attention on the Web, do we still need to worry about hoary SEO techniques that we lived and died with a few years ago? For my answer, check out my latest post at Search Engine Guide, "Is SEO no longer important?"

If someone says " SEO is no longer important" that would be a very bold statement. May be the importance have been reduced when comparing with early 2000 era. But still SEO plays a vital role in the development of a web site.

Yes Eranda is right thats a very BOLD statement, for me thought SEO is still important cause people still search using search engine and doing your SEO will surely boost your site on serp.

SEO cannot be dead as long as internet marketing and promotion is alive. I think that SEO is the future and not the past of all new business plans.
